Singer-songwriter Rachella Wred is a west coast transplant currently living in Montreal, Canada.  Drawn to the sounds of her surroundings and of the natural world, folk music and songwriting have given her the space to explore storytelling through music.

Rachel started singing before she could talk and began playing music at an early age, studying Royal Conservatory of Music repertoire on both the piano and in voice before discovering her love of songwriting. In 2014, she appeared in the 200th episode of TV show Supernatural, being featured in the episode’s musical cover of the Kansas song "Carry On Wayward Son”.

Rachel has been working on writing and recording original music for the last few years and released her first project in the fall of 2020, which consisted of four singles. Further refining her songwriting during the quiet of lockdown, she released the rich and contemplative single “Warmer Light” in the fall of 2022.

Relocating to Montreal has provided Rachel with a whole new soundscape to discover. In contrast with the breezy tone of the west coast, she has learned to appreciate the more assertive sounds of the city.  Rachel is currently working on her next project written around intimate endings and beginnings in the ambience of the Montreal bustle. Her new single “Ever Since You’ve Been Gone” is out now.
